Hey everybody, The Neptune Festival is happening this weekend! (Friday-Sunday). My tent will be set up on the 25th street block, and I will be exhibiting my paintings, prints, skateboard decks, and other goodies.. plus a custom surfboard painting demo. Hope to see you there! Peace..Bob

The NEPTUNE Festival!

Well September is here and I'm now preparing for the Neptune Festival, which runs from Friday Sept. 24th through Sunday Sept. 26th. For those of you who are not familiar with The Neptune Festival, it's a biggie.. many excellent artists in the show, plus an international sand sculpting contest (I had the privilege of judging it last year with Paul DiPasquale, renowned sculptor), plus a surfing contest, a parade, a marathon, live bands,and many other fun filled events. I mainly concentrate on entering the big shows at the beach (like The Neptune) because a lot of people attend these, plus I am hoping to sell some of my artwork and make many new contacts. Plus the Neptune is TON of fun!! This year I will be exhibiting my paintings, prints, custom skateboards and faux skateboard plaques.. plus some new abstract and far out goodies.. soon to be revealed! More fun that I can hardly stand. Peace... Bob

"Surf's Up" art show at the Artists Gallery

Hey Y'all, I have entered 3 paintings and a surfboard in the "Surf's Up 2010" art show at the Artists Gallery in Virginia Beach. The show runs from August 17th-September 7th,and the reception is on Saturday Aug. 21st from 6:30-8:30 pm. First Fridays Art Walk

Well tomorrow is the first Friday in August, and I will be exhibiting my prints, paintings and custom painted surfboards at the "First Fridays Art Walk" at Town Center in Va Beach. The show runs from 5-8 pm, so come on out and check it out! I will be doing a custom surfboard painting demonstration as well. See you there!!..Bob

The Hendrix Board

The Board Swap on Saturday, April 10th

Austin Surfboards had their first annual board swap this past Saturday, and it was a lot of fun. I displayed my 7'6" Frierson quad for sale, but no one bought it.. that's ok though, it's one of my favorite boards and I'll just wax and ride it this summer again ! Here are some photos of the 6'3" custom fish swallowtail that I painted for Austin during the event..

Tomorrow is the board swap at Austin Surfboards on 19th street (10:00am-4pm) I'll be selling a sick 7'6" Frierson quad with a crazy custom painted deck, plus a surfboard painting demo on the lawn.. hope to see you there!

My second blog, Sat. feb. 13, 2010

Well it's still wicked cold outside, snowing some, and the ocean temp is like 36 degrees.. so I'm inside catching up on some freelance logo work today. I have finished building the interface for my new web store on my website (www.thebobzone.com) and now all I have to do is order some shipping boxes, put the paypal code in place and then the webstore will be ready! I am hoping to have all this done within the next month, I have so many projects going on that I have to keep this on the back burner for a little while. For all you Virginia Beach Locals, I will be participating in an art show/beer tasting event at Austin's Custom Surfboards surf shop on 19th street next Saturday (the 20th) from 6-9 pm. It's gonna be a blast! I will be doing a custom surfboard painting exhibition as well (I'll be painting a new Austin board with some kind of wyld design.. leaning heavily toward crazy sea serpent,, I love doing those!)
